Pain Self-Management: CBT Skills in Clinical Practice
Series 2

Help your patients to manage chronic or persistent pain

This webinar skills training program provides an opportunity for health professionals to learn how to help their patients better manage their chronic or persistent pain problems using self-management strategies that can be tailored to the needs of each patient.

Each program includes seven online sessions of 90 minutes duration conducted on a weekly or fortnightly basis, usually at the end of the working day. In each session you will explore and learn how to apply the specific strategies regularly used in the pain self-management programs both at our Centre and internationally.

Homework tasks

You are expected to use the skills covered with your patients between sessions, and then reflect on the experience & document insights gained. These tasks are designed to give you an opportunity to practise and reflect on the skills you explored in each session.

Study materials

All participants receive:

  • a comprehensive manual covering the content of the program
  • a headset
  • advice on the technical aspects of the webinar sessions
  • relevant papers for background reading
  • a copy of our patient manual (Manage Your Pain by Nicholas et al.)

Follow-up email discussions with the facilitators, if necessary, are also available.
