Dr Rebecca Martin is a Specialist Pain Medicine Physician, a Senior Staff Specialist and since 2020 has been Head of Department of the Michael J Cousins Pain Management & Research Centre of RNSH. She is also the Head of Department of the Nepean Hospital Pain Management Centre. Her initial background was in Anaesthesia, and she obtained additional Fellowship of the Faculty of Pain Medicine in 2010. Her clinical interests are in managing complex chronic pain scenarios within the setting of an interdisciplinary team, including utilising procedural interventions, and in developing and supporting multidisciplinary approaches to pain. Her department is involved in multiple clinical trials investigating procedural pain medicine approaches, pharmacological interventions, and cognitive behavioural therapy management approaches for chronic pain.
