Joanna Mason

Dr Joanna Mason is a Research Fellow at the Leeder Centre for Health Policy, Economics and Data at the University of Sydney. With an interdisciplinary background spanning public policy, anthropology and organisational studies, her work examines how professional knowledge and institutional contexts shape policy development and decision-making. Joanna completed her PhD at the University of Wollongong and has held research and analyst roles across Australia’s public and Indigenous health systems. Her work is highly collaborative, grounded in partnerships with government, community organisations and service providers. Drawing on experience in the Australian Public Service and Aboriginal community-led initiatives, she advances equity-focused, evidence-informed system and service design.
