Claire Ashton-James

Dr. Ashton-James is a Social Psychologist whose research aims to evaluate and improve healthcare delivery for the benefit of both patients (treatment outcomes) and clinicians (well-being and job satisfaction). Dr. Ashton-James conducted her PhD research at UNSW (Australia) and Duke University (USA). She was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia (Canada) before moving to The Netherlands to work as an Assistant Professor at the University of Groningen and later at the Free University of Amsterdam (Department of Psychology and the VU Medical Centre Amsterdam). Dr. Ashton-James conducts interdisciplinary research with collaborators in Dentistry, Maxillofacial Surgery, Clinical Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Physiotherapy, and Medicine and actively provides continuing education to healthcare professionals.
