This interactive course consists of 6 lectures and 3 tutorials, including engaging discussions and clinical case reviews led by glaucoma sub-specialists. Participants will not only gain theoretical knowledge but also practical insights that can be immediately applied in clinical settings. The course structure encourages collaboration and interaction through an online discussion forum, allowing participants to deepen their understanding of lecture topics and share insights with peers and tutors.

 Accreditation Status

The course is currently in the process of obtaining 14 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation from RANZCO, further validating its quality and relevance in the field.

4. Investigative Procedures: when and how to investigate chronic optic neuropathies

 

5. Management Strategies: treatment options for early glaucoma, pharmacological management, selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) techniques 

 

6. Surgical Interventions: trabecular-based minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), indications for surgical intervention in angle closure

 

7. Angle Closure Glaucoma: assessing angle closure risk, treatment evidence and protocols

 

8. Bleb management: identifying blebs from different glaucoma drainage surgeries, management and when to seek help

 

9. Shared Care Models: when and how to implement shared glaucoma care

Course delivery method

There are two requirements for successful completion of the course:
1. Participation in 4 out of the 6 weekly discussion boards. This can range from asking a question about that week's lecture topic to sharing some insights with other participants or discussing a paper you read on the topic.
2. Presentation of a case relevant to the course topic at one of the live tutorials.
